Frequently Asked Questions

Q1.  How long does a session typically last?  From the time you arrive until the time you walk out the door, it's usually 3.5 hours total, including the time spent doing your hair & makeup. All sessions begin at 9:30 am and end approximately around 1:00 pm.

Q2. Where is your studio located? We are located in Olive Branch, Mississippi, convenient to Hwy 302 in Desoto County, Mississippi, and Hwy 385 in Memphis, Tennessee. We're also not far from the new I-269.

Q3. Do you shoot plus-sized women? Heck to the yes! Our plus-sized curvy girls absolutely ROCK IT and we specialize in posing voluptuous women. I'm a curvy girl, too, so you're in good company. Size is just a number, and we promote nothing but body positivity.

Q4. Do you shoot couples' boudoir? YES!

Q5. What do I wear for a boudoir session? What if I don't own any lingerie?  Do you provide outfits? Never fear! We will guide you through the whole process, recommend places to shop (local and online), and we will give you our honest opinion on any ideas you have.  This is part of what we will talk lots about during your consultation (see Q8 for more details on consultations). Boudoir is not JUST about lingerie, either. We've had clients bring in their hubby's favorite dress shirt & tie, a favorite sports team jersey/t-shirt, an off-the-shoulder sweater paired with tall socks, ripped up jeans or shorts, a leather jacket and thigh high boots, just to name a few! Some of these items you may already own and didn't even think about it. We've even created some really sexy images with a simple bed sheet. We also provide bed sheets in various colors, and heels in a range of sizes from 6 to 12!

Q6.  Can I do my own hair & makeup? I want to save some money by doing my own and I'm pretty good at my own.

We require the use of our hair & makeup artist for several reasons: 1) We want you to feel pampered and have that full, one-stop-shop experience (YOU DESERVE IT!) plus it gives you a chance to chat with us and relax and get settled in before we get started with the shoot itself.

2) Your everyday makeup routine is not ideal for a professional photo session. The lighting used for photo shoots is going to remove a lot of the color from your face, making you appear washed out if the makeup you apply yourself isn't done right. Our Hair & Makeup Artist knows how to apply boudoir hair & makeup for the absolute best results. We want you to love your images! 3) We don't want just "good" makeup. We want PHENOMENAL makeup. PHENOMENAL makeup will make you FLAWLESS and makes the retouching process easier.

Q7. Can I use my own hair & makeup artist?   See answer to Q6.

Q8.  What's the purpose of the consultation and why is it required? The consultation is a great way for you to feel more comfortable having met me first so that you know I'm not some creepy weirdo, we'll get to talk about all pertinent details regarding your session, go over pricing more in depth and look at all of the gorgeous options we have available, discuss wardrobe selection, and get all of your questions answered that pertain specifically to your session. It's required because the end-result is always the absolute best when we are all on the same page and when you're less nervous because you've already learned that I'm a legit artist with a legit business and not just some freaky dude. Consultations are available by appointment, Monday-Friday 11 am-4:00 pm, and you may request a consultation by filling out this brief questionnaire and we will be in touch within 24 hours to get your consultation scheduled.

Q9.  May I bring a friend the day of my session? There are several reasons we have a strict "no guest" policy for boudoir sessions:

1) We have space limitations in the studio, and we are sort of klutzy ourselves and we don't want to trip over extra people. 2) Having a friend actually makes our clients MORE self-conscious, which I know that goes against logic, but I'm also speaking from experience here. 3) Friends sometimes like to direct the shoot by suggesting different poses, and that really takes away from us doing our job and giving you the best results possible. Also it's generally distracting to do my job with other people watching.

Q10.  I have "shopped around" looking for the right boudoir photographer for me. Can you tell me why you are more expensive than other photographers I've looked into? This is another multi-answer question.  Part of that answer comes down to experience & quality. We have been shooting boudoir now for over 10 years and have spent countless hours (and money) on training with some of the top boudoir photographers in the world, and I continuously strive to learn more techniques for posing, lighting, and more to give you the absolute best. Go big or go home, right?  Another part of that answer is simply a business-y answer. In order to run a sustainable business so I can keep offering this amazing service to amazing women, I have to charge prices that allow me to remain legally licensed, pay my taxes, pay for continuing education, equipment, software, props, our staff, overhead, oh...and I like to get paid, too, because I have kids & cats to feed.  That's just the honest-to-God long & short of it.

Q11.  What if I don't want anyone else to see my images? We will NEVER EVER share your images online, on social media, or otherwise, without your permission. Boudoir is a very personal thing and only if you give us permission to share your hotness with the world would we ever do that.

Q12.  What is your cancellation policy? Our reschedule & cancellation policy is super strict. We block off a lot of time for your session and have to turn away many clients for the date you booked, so if you must reschedule, there is a $500 rescheduling fee. There are absolutely no refunds if you decide to cancel altogether.

Q13.  What's the typical turnaround time on my order? Depends on what you order, but some of the more popular items are ready in as little as 1-2 weeks.

Q14.  How far in advance do I need to book my session? We recommend 6 months before you need your pictures back because we book ahead pretty far in advance.

Q15. When & How will I see my images after my session? The day of your session we will go ahead and schedule your return appointment to view your images in-person, OR you may also schedule a Zoom viewing appointment. At this viewing appointment, AKA "Reveal Appointment", you'll first get to watch your awesome, fun, upbeat highlight video showcasing your images, and then we will go through your images one at a time to choose your favorite images and decide on what you'd like to order.

Q 16. Is it possible to view my images online instead of coming in for the in-person Reveal Appointment? We can schedule a Zoom viewing instead so that we can meet virtually.

Q17. What do most clients spend on a session? There are 2 parts to our boudoir sessions. Part 1 of your investment is the $690 Session Fee that will include my specialized assistance in planning your session, your professional hair & makeup, your photoshoot itself with expert posing instruction, and your reveal appointment to view & select your professionally retouched images. Part 2 of your investment is choosing from our exquisite, custom-designed albums, print boxes, and wall art starting at $2500, or our specially curated Collections starting at $2900. Full details on A La Carte & Collections will be covered during your consultation. We accept payments via PayPal, Debit, Credit, PayPal Credit, Venmo, CashApp, Cash, or any combination of these options. A minimum of $250 is required to be paid at your consultation to lock in your session date.

Q18. Do you offer payment plan options? Yes! We currently offer 0% interest for 6 months through PayPal Credit. You may apply through PayPal Credit ahead of your Consultation to see how much you qualify for.  We also offer in-house financing through our SlayPay Plan, which is a super flexible option and mindful of any budget with payments stretched out for up to 18 months.

Q19. My biggest worry is that I am overweight or have body flaws I just don't want to be put out there in front of the camera. Help? Let me just stop you right there. Every girl who has come to us has this same exact concern. We ALL have body flaws, parts that we wish looked different. Some of us wish for bigger boobs, some of us want a reduction. Some of wish wish we were a Size 2, while some of us wish we could gain weight. No matter the number on the scale or the size on a clothing tag, we've all got issues! BUT rest assured, we have the skills to pose you and light you in such a way to minimize so many of the things you're worried about. And the stuff that posing and lighting doesn't handle, our highly skilled retoucher can work some Photoshop magic. Tell us your concerns and we will address anything you are worried about.

We are constantly adding new Q/A's to the FAQ page, but if you need something answered you don't see the answer to on this page, please do not hesitate to ask!
